A Dining Room to Nap In

Ok, that is a joke, but I do strive in every room to make it feel nap worthy. Our dining room had to be right in this house because I couldn’t stand the dining room in our last house, even though I repainted it 3xs and had multiple rounds of Facebook furniture trapse through it! It was modeled after our favorite local restaurant, Annie Gunn’s, an upscale American steakhouse, with grilled meatloaf and heaping piles of their homemade pub chips being served at all hours. There is a warm brick fireplace in the center, white tablecloths throughout and just the best atmosphere.

The paint color is always the biggest question. This is a very deep green, with hints of blue, from Farrow and Ball called Studio Green. I hesitated on the color, concerned I was being influenced by the trending greens that everyone was painting everything on Instagram, but realized that this tone fit very well with our American steakhouse vibe we were going for so I went with it.

The mirror is an original Italian gilt wood mirror from ages ago that is worth $4-$6,000 that I got for…$100! I couldn’t believe how much it was worth after I saw the markings on the back and looked them up online. She is a true stunner and is extremely heavy.

I bought this bar cart on a Facebook market place excursion looking for a table. I didn’t care for its dated coordinating piece, however this bar cart was just enough vintage without feeling I-got-it-at-a-thrift-store ish. It is filled with new and old bar war that is always dusty but I love seeing it glimmer in the sun so it stays out and gets washed before guests come.

My favorite barware for serving:
